Substantial site excavation recently started at the site of the future Chinatown Station, located at Washington & Stockton Streets.
Construction work consists of tying in rebar to the exterior walls, in preparation for the roof-slab.
Currently, excavation for the station entrance is approximately 10 feet below street level. When completed, the excavation will extend as deep as 120 feet below the surface.
