All the construction I've seen to date (for which they've already done rerouting) certainly hasn't seemed like they couldn't work around it.

The reroute will begin after the Stockton Tunnel, southbound service to 4th and Townsend streets (Caltrain) will be rerouted west on Sutter Street, south on Mason Street and east on Market Street and south of 5th Street.
